Yarn.

April 10, 2006

I was about to bore you with pictures of the ribbed cuff of a sleeve, when the mailcarrier stepped in with some much more photogenic yarn:

I officially ended the three month Stashalong with a trip to KnitPicks. The Turquoise Shine is for a shrug for my sister, the Alpaca Cloud in a light blue color called Horizon is for something lacey for me (still searching for the perfect pattern), and the assorted reds are to add some contrast to the colors in Eat Your Veggies. I also picked up some color cards for Shine, Main Line, and Spinnaker. I think Pima cotton is my new favorite fiber. What is pima cotton? All I know is that it is much softer than other cottons.

I’ve had this yarn for 10 whole minutes now, and I have not cast on. I don’t think I’m going to wait much longer, though.

I vote for the Flower Basket Shawl for the lacey item! Perfect pattern, fun, interesting without being insane, and you can decide on the size as you go.

I’m really curious about the Main Line Yarn–I just can’t decide what color I want to order–can you tell anything about the feel of it from the color card? You got some great stuff—I just love Knitpicks lace yarn–it’s all yummy:)

Not that I want to ruin your thriftiness further, but I found a yarn store online, Webs, that is having a sale.

That Alpaca Cloud is a gorgeous color. I have never done any lace work, so I’m very excited to see what pattern you pick.
