Baby! (and some backwards progress)

Okay, so I had a post all figured out, because I’ve been knitting this afternoon, but you know what that big lump in the middle of the skein means. Frogging.

But when i turned on the computer I got the e-mail that my friends Laura and Shannon just welcomed their new baby girl into the world! Yay! Oh man, I need to finish up the baby-present knitting. Now. Because I made the gift in a small size, and the little squirt is already over 8 lbs.

So the henley, that I really hoped would get done this weekend (we’ve got a Lost marathon and the Super Bowl to knit through) is on hold for a bit. Even if it means that I don’t re-knit the sleeve cap that I just ripped. (note to self–follow the directions. decrease every row means every row, not just the knit rows. even if you’re working in lace. duh.)
